CUB SCOUT PACK 24 - ELMHURST, ILLINOIS
Pack 24's success is largely dependent on dependent on active parent volunteers. Please get involved to provide the best experience possible for our scouts. Below are the positions that we currently need your help with. Please reach out to p24elmhurst@gmail.com to express interest or learn more. In addition to the below positions, we always welcome any form of assistance you can provide, whether it be helping to organize Den meetings or Pack events, or perhaps offering a unique opportunity for scouts based on a specific area of expertise, a hobby, etc.
Lions Den Leader 2025-26
A new Kindergarten Den is created every year as new scouts join the Pack. There can be one or more Den Leaders. It's great if at least two parents share this role. Some Dens choose to rotate among all the parents from month-to-month. There is a lot of flexibility. In general, Den Leaders organize Den meetings. The Den is the primary unit where Scouts make new friends and enjoy small group activities together working on rank requirements. Other Pack Leaders are available to help the new Den Leaders learn how to organize meetings and offer suggestions for activities.
Assistant Cubmaster 2025-26
The Assistant Cubmaster will help the Cubmaster plan and facilitate monthly pack meetings and provide assistance at other pack activities, such as hikes and campouts. This role is a great way to learn the ropes of Scouting and contribute to planning our activities.
Assistant Popcorn Kernel 2025-26
This role is to support the Popcorn Kernel in leading our popcorn sales fundraiser in the fall. Responsibilities include promoting popcorn sales with scouts and parents, managing storefront shifts, and tracking and distributing orders. Generally, just helping out the "Kernel" as backup and being a 2nd set of hands. Popcorn fundraising accounts for the majority of our operating budget, so it's a huge benefit to the pack!
