Welcome to Pack 24

Pack 24 is led by a group of Scout parent volunteers working to provide a positive experience for youth in grades K-5 based on the ideals and values of Scouting. Most of our Scouts attend Hawthorne Elementary School in Elmhurst, IL, but anyone is welcome to join. We do many fun things over the course of the year, and it is always "Fun with a Purpose."

Typical activities include:

Meeting Times and Places

Pack meetings are held once a month during the school year (September - May). We usually meet on the third Friday of the month at 7 PM in the Hawthorne multi-purpose room at 145 Arthur Street in Elmhurst, IL. Our October meeting is outdoors and starts a little earlier, and our Pinewood Derby is usually held on a Saturday morning instead of a Friday night. A list of upcoming events is provided in the column to the right. Please visit our Calendar for the full schedule of meetings and other events.

In addition to the Pack meetings, each Den will hold its own Den meetings at different times and places determined by the Den Leader. Our Dens usually meet once a month separately from the Pack meetings.  Details of the Den meetings are shared via email with registered members of the Den.

Combining the Pack meetings, Den meetings, hikes and other optional activities, Scouts will have the opportunity for activities 3-4 times a month, with some of those being optional activities. Pack 24 Scouts may also participate in optional activities hosted by our Council or our District.

How to Join

Most Scouts join the Pack in the Fall, which is our main recruiting time. However, Scouts may join at any time during the year. To join, parents need to submit a New Scout Application, a completed Health Form, a Popcorn Commitment Form, and a registration payment. We usually host a registration event in early September for anyone interested in learning about the Pack.

More details and links to the forms can be found on our How to Join page.
