Parent Information

Our goal is to provide parents a clear understanding of the shared responsibility for delivering a great Scouting program. Continued support from our parents is important for the smooth delivery of the Scouting Program.

Pack 24 Scout / Parent Commitments

  • I will help my Scout get to all den meetings, pack meetings, and family outings on time. If my Scout cannot attend a den meeting or pack meeting, I will notify the den leader.

  • I will respond to requests for RSVPs for events such as family outings in a timely manner, and understand that if I am late responding to requests, I may not be able to attend.

  • I will accompany my Scout to pack meetings, and be respectful while leaders are talking.

  • I will make sure my scout has a complete uniform and wears it to den meetings, pack meetings, and other events as requested by the scout leaders.

  • I will work with my Scout to help complete the adventures described in the handbooks, understanding that many activities must be completed at home.

  • I will demonstrate appropriate behavior for all Scouts at pack and den functions.

  • I will seriously consider how I may “help the Pack go” when asked to volunteer time, special skills, or life experiences.

  • I will remember that the pack's activities are all run by volunteers who are doing their best. If there is a situation I am unhappy with, I will be civil, kind and cooperative and do my best to help change or remedy the situation.

Expectations

Participation: Cub Scouting is designed to be a family activity. You will need to work with your Scout on progress and advancement in the program. Parents must signoff when certain program Adventures and Electives are accomplished. Den Leaders will help guide parents to understand what is required.

We encourage parents to read through their Scout's Cub Scout Book early in the year and be aware of what activities are required for the Scout to earn each rank. As an important member of the Scouting Team - Scout, Leaders, and Family - we depend on your participation, input, ideas and suggestions to help Pack 24 "Go and Grow." Please keep in mind that Scouting is a volunteer organization and we count on everyone to lend an occasional helping hand.

Volunteers needed

The pack is in need of volunteers to fill open potions. Please keep in mind that the strength and success of our Pack is based largely on the participation of parents. Our Pack is run entirely by volunteer leaders. Your help is needed and appreciated (and we're sure you'll find the experience a rewarding one).

Please contact Craig Grossardt (craiggrossardt@gmail.com) or Marisa Walz (marisawalz@gmail.com) to learn how you can help.

Pack 24 Committee

The Pack Committee is a group of parents and volunteers who work to plan and deliver the Cub Scout program for Pack 24. The committee typically meets once a month. These planning meetings are listed on our Calendar Page. All parents are welcome to attend the meetings.

Meetings are led by the Cubmaster and Pack Committee Chair. For a full list of our current leaders, please see the Pack 24 Leaders Page.
